Garrett McCarthy: Muralist

Welcome!

Garrett McCarthy specializes in fine art and murals uniquely tailored for educational institutions, medical and hospitality facilities, restaurant and residential clients.

Included in this portfolio are samples of work produced for the University of Massachusetts, Springfield College, Nichols College, Friendly Restaurants, Boston Science Museum, and many more. The majority of these works are painted on vinyl-coated canvas at the art studio and shipped for installation at their designated locations.

Other projects require direct paint application on site in order to configure with interior design elements.

Last year's outdoor mural project on two  24" x 50" exterior walls for Ocean Reef Yacht Club & Marina in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island proved extremely successful. Resort managers desired an architectural solution for the wall facing parking and drive up area and 2ndly an ocean view of a Marsh Harbor theme facing the main pool plaza.

Atlantis, Paradise Island required color scheme, graphics and scenery for targeted areas within the employee service corridors running underneath the facility.  Flat walls allowed for local highlights such as Parliament Square, Wilson and Harold Ponds Nat'l Park and landscapes while the dominant cinderblock surfaces received two toned colors and graphics.

The hotel administration wanted to upgrade department entryway areas for staff and visitors to identify & locate more quickly.  Outdoor scenery punctuates this windowless working environment and breaks the long stretches of interconnecting service hallways.  Professionals from four different departments were instrumental in providing guidance, logistics and materials for this operation to be a success.

Images from both Freeport & Nassau/Atlantis Projects to be uploaded soon.
